FIT4ALL and RiseUP: Movement That Makes Room for Different Abilities
A movement challenge should begin with the person, not with an assumption about what that person can do. That is the connection between FIT4ALL and the RiseUP Elevation Challenge: making room for individual goals, different abilities, and more than one way to participate.
This September, we are inviting Colorado supporters to look beyond a single image of fitness. A mountain summit is not the only meaningful goal. A planned walk, a distance-based route, or support from a friend can be part of someone’s challenge experience, too.
Get to know FIT4ALL
FIT4ALL focuses on adaptive and inclusive fitness. Its programming is designed around people with different physical and cognitive abilities, including individuals with disabilities, neurodivergent participants, families, caregivers, and disabled veterans.
On its About Us page, the team describes a family- and veteran-owned business built around an individualized approach to movement. That perspective gives our community another way to think about access: not simply offering an activity, but considering how people can participate in it.
Readers interested in fitness programming should contact FIT4ALL directly about available sessions, suitability, and individual needs. The RiseUP fundraising campaign is a separate activity, not enrollment in a FIT4ALL class.
Why the connection matters to RiseUP
Our Adult Day Programs in Denver and Colorado Springs emphasize community participation and skill development for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A meaningful experience begins with understanding the person and their interests.
That value connects naturally with an adaptive-fitness perspective. It does not mean that every participant wants the same activity, needs the same support, or measures success the same way.
Through the Elevation Challenge, we can introduce RiseUP supporters to FIT4ALL and invite the FIT4ALL community to learn about our mission. This is a campaign collaboration; it should not be confused with an announcement of a jointly operated fitness or clinical program.
Choose a challenge that reflects your circumstances
The RiseUP Elevation Challenge runs September 1-30, 2026, with campaign goals of 5,000 feet of elevation or 15 miles of distance. Walking, hiking, running, climbing, strolling, and rolling are part of the campaign’s movement invitation.
Review the registration guidance when choosing how to participate. Record the elevation or distance that applies to your challenge; time spent exercising does not automatically establish a particular number of feet or miles.
You can also be involved without completing an activity goal. Donating, sharing a participant’s page, and encouraging someone else’s progress are welcome ways to support RiseUP.
Create a team without making everyone follow one plan
A friend group or fitness community could join around a common purpose while keeping individual activities flexible. Someone might choose a neighborhood route, while another person prefers a different setting or simply supports the fundraiser.
Invite people to say what would make the experience welcoming. Offer ways to participate that do not require sharing private health information. Ask permission before publishing names, photos, or personal stories.
When sharing your fundraiser, explain your own reason for supporting inclusion and link to the participant page. Our fundraising outreach guide can help turn that intention into a clear message for your community.
Keep the focus on opportunity
This partnership is a chance to make inclusive movement more visible while raising support for RiseUP’s work. It is not about proving that everyone can do the same thing. It is about giving people meaningful ways to contribute.
