Advocacy is more than a word at RiseUP — it’s a movement. It’s the driving force that shapes a more inclusive Colorado Springs where every person, regardless of ability, has access to opportunities, belonging, and a voice that’s heard.

From the classrooms of our K–12 school to our adult and residential programs, advocacy is at the heart of what we do. It’s the belief that everyone deserves the chance to live with dignity, purpose, and joy — and that communities thrive when we rise together.

Building Inclusion Through Action

True advocacy means more than raising awareness — it means taking steps that create lasting impact. At RiseUP, we advocate by supporting individuals directly and by engaging in conversations that influence systems, policy, and public understanding.

When we speak up for our participants and their families, we’re also speaking up for a stronger, more connected Colorado Springs. Whether it’s helping families navigate services, encouraging self-advocacy skills, or participating in local initiatives that shape inclusive spaces, we believe every action matters.

Empowering Voices — Especially the Quiet Ones

Empowerment starts when people are seen and heard. RiseUP helps individuals build confidence to tell their stories, share their needs, and stand tall in their truth.

We encourage families to engage with decision-makers, to ask questions, and to celebrate every victory — because advocacy doesn’t only happen in courtrooms or policy meetings. It happens in daily life — in the moments when someone finds their voice, learns self-advocacy, or participates fully in their community.

Creating an Inclusive Colorado Springs

Our city thrives when every person contributes and feels valued. RiseUP continues to partner with local organizations, schools, and leaders to build inclusive systems where neurodivergent individuals can grow, work, and belong.

We believe inclusion isn’t an endpoint — it’s an ongoing process of learning, adapting, and connecting. Together, with families, partners, and supporters across Colorado Springs, we’re working toward a future where everyone has a seat at the table.

Advocacy is a Shared Responsibility

You don’t have to be an expert to be an advocate. You just have to care. When you share a story, attend a community event, volunteer, or choose to see people for their strengths instead of their challenges — you’re advocating.

RiseUP is proud to walk alongside individuals, families, and organizations that share our belief: when we rise for inclusion, we all rise higher.

Rising Together. Thriving Forever.
