How to Help

How to help

Roundup Fellowship is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit agency that was incorporated in 1973.  We rely on the generosity of our community and people who are interested in supporting people with developmental disabilities.

We serve approximately 120 clients who have developmental disabilities.  Our clients range in age from infancy to seniors. Given this diversity, we are in need of a variety of services and supports.

Make a Pledge towards our School Capitol Campaign:

Roundup is currently holding a Capitol Campaign to fund our new and expanded school building. Our new location is at 2121 S. LaSalle St in Colorado Springs. Our goal is to raise a good portion of the $1,500,000.00 cost of purchasing and remodeling the building for our school. You can make a one time gift or make a pledge towards the Capitol Campaign. Just designate your gift as such when you send it in. For more information, email: mary.anaya@rup.org.

Volunteer:

VolunteerWe appreciate and support our volunteers.  We value one time activities, such as a work day or sponsoring a specific event, as well as ongoing participation.  We are flexible in accommodating your schedule, interests, and needs.

Currently we need volunteers to:

  • mentor a child

  • become a friend to an adult who has a developmental disability

  • cut hair for our clients

  • network with friends and family to help with our Donation Wish List (see below)

To volunteer, please contact Jim VanderKamp at 303-757-8008 x 18.

Donation wish list:
Donations
  • Gift Certificate to local restaurants

  • Sprinkler system for our residential programs

  • Home air conditioning unit for a home in Colorado Springs

  • Treadmill for our adult program

  • Tickets to local Sporting events or other events

  • Monetary donations of any size

To help with our wish list, please contact Jim VanderKamp at 303-757-8008 x 18.

Mentor Program:

Mentor programMany of our clients have been abused or neglected.  They have low self esteem and poor self worth.  Many of our clients have no families, and their only interactions are with paid staff members.  Our clients often feel isolated, different, and left out.  Our mentor program pairs a volunteer with one of our children or adults who  needs a friend.  After an application and interview process, each volunteer receives training, supervision, and support as this special friendship develops.

A mentor is:

  • a person over the age of 16.

  • a person who can make a commitment of an hour a week for at least one year.

  • a person who wants to have fun, be a role model, and make a difference in the life of another.

To become a mentor, please contact Carolyn Ajie at 303-757-8008 x 19.

Vehicle Donation:

Vehicle DonationIf you have an automobile you no longer need, consider donating it to us.  We use automobiles to transport clients to community events, to visit friends, and to participate in jobs. Sometimes we are able to sell an automobile and use the money to enrich the lives of our clients.  You will receive a receipt for tax donation purposes, and we will pay for the tow.

To donate a vehicle, please contact Jim VanderKamp at 303-757-8008 x 18.
